A big shoutout to Bryan for his exciting work on computational modeling of left atrial (LA) mechanics and blood flow, taking variable tissue thickness into account. This makes a seminal contribution to the field, as LA is traditionally understudied compared to the ventricular counterpart, and its geometrical variations remain less characterized due to a lack of sufficient data. The work was presented at the 78th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics, held from November 23-25, 2025, in Houston, TX. We thank the US National Science Foundation and the American Heart Association for supporting this work.
